Food Funding
4PLATES - A Movement
As the cost-of-living crisis bites us, and councils already under pressure try and fund community pantries and food banks, I want to create a way to reduce public burden. As costs rise, processed and junk meals are the easiest and lowest cost method of filling one’s self up in community pantries but with disastrous health consequences. Furthermore, as budgets of councils get squeezed, there is a widening gap between what the community needs and the councils can afford.
Pounds4Plates is a straightforward, self-sustaining initiative: participating restaurants, such as London's renowned Amaya, Chutney Mary, and Veeraswamy, add an optional 0.25% service charge to bills, with proceeds donated directly to food charities. Restaurants act as facilitators, gaining significant goodwill, tax benefits, and positive publicity, while customers are informed via table tents and bill inserts. This model eliminates the need for charities to seek CSR funds or donations, ensuring long-term impact through minimal, scalable contributions.
Building on this success, we are launching Paisa4Plates in India, applying the same model to support charities like Akshaya Patra. This requires no financial contribution from your organization or CSR budget—only the opportunity to enhance your brand's reputation and make a meaningful difference in addressing hunger.
4Plates is a movement.
Should you or your organization want to partner to promote Pounds4Plates, Paisa4Plates, or create your own 4Plates plan under the 4Plates banner, just reach out to me. Lets alleviate hunger globally.
